Getting the spec right
A replacement hose has to match the inside diameter, the pressure rating, the length and both fitting ends. The layline printed on the old hose usually gives the size and rating. If it's worn off, the tech measures and matches it.
Upgrade when it makes sense
Hoses that rub or cook near hot parts can get abrasion sleeves, heat guards or a better routing so the same hose doesn't fail again next month.
Replace in sets
If one hose on a machine has aged out, its neighbours are usually close behind. Replacing a set during a planned stop costs less than three breakdowns.
